This timeless patterned runner will add cozy elegance to any space - great for a hallway or bedside. It's named after the Great Rann of Kutch, one of the largest salt deserts in the world and close to where our weavers are based in Kutch. In the summer monsoon season, the salt desert is covered with standing water and in the winter it dries up, creating a distinct honeycomb pattern of salt crystals.

  • Handwoven in Kutch, Gujarat, India
  • 25 x 65” +/-
  • 100% undyed wool
  • Spot clean as needed and vacuum regularly

The thick yarn used produces a soft and luxurious medium weight rug that will last 100 years according to Dayabhai, our head weaver. Dayabhai and his sons weave these rugs using the traditional kharad weaving technique. Kharad weavers use a basic horizontal loom as it is easy to set up and dismantle, fitting their nomadic lifestyle. The black and white colors are the natural shades of the goat and sheep wool used, 100% undyed and untreated. The miri braid on each end is a finishing technique distinctive of this region and a signature feature of this rug.

Slight variations may occur due to the nature of handmade goods.
